The Whyte name is synonymous with accounting, with Whyte Senior joining an accounting practice in 1957. He became an accountant to help clients with their financial success. While times and technology have changed, this vision still holds true. Whyte Group Accountants has continually evolved to meet the ongoing needs of clients in the information age.

The entire team operate from their office in Banyo in the northern suburbs of Brisbane. Whyte Group also travel to meet clients in regional areas around Australia.
“We have clients in their 4th family generation, but we also get to welcome new clients who want simple straight answers, accessible staff and timely work done.”

Andrew Whyte

Andrew is a Certified Practising Accountant and has been a Director of The Whyte Group for over 20 years. He advises clients through a broad range of industries and professions and has extensive knowledge of the commercial property sector. Andrew is a pragmatic problem solver who understands what needs to be done for a successful outcome.

He loves the challenges that businesses face, and he has partnered with a range of outside advisors to provide client’s access to high calibre experts in a range of areas.

A commercial and practical approach to advice has ensured a long and close relationship with his clients.

Scott Whyte

Scott started his career as a graduate in Insolvency & Reconstruction at Ernst & Young in 1991. It only took 18 months to realise that he would prefer to work with clients who welcomed his involvement, so he moved to his father’s accounting practice. Scott was trained and mentored by his father for 5 years who then retired and sold the business to Scott and three other business partners. He became a partner in 1997 and has worked in this role until today where he and his brother Andrew now jointly operate Whyte Group Accountants.

Whilst raising his young children, Scott was involved in the normal voluntary roles in kindergarten and school P & F Associations, and the local rugby club. More recently, he has been involved with Aspirations for Kids in Sport – an organisation that assists children with personal challenges.

Scott believes in the importance of strong relationships with his clients. He surrounds himself with a quality team of staff to ensure clients get good service, get their problems solved, and achieve the best financial results possible.

Sue Baines

Sue is a CPA qualified accountant with extensive experience in public practice, specialising in tax compliance and business advisory work for small to medium size businesses and high net worth individuals.

Sue began her career with Whytes in 2004 after completing her Bachelor of Commerce degree with University of Queensland. She moved quickly up the ranks to a manager position, concentrating on quality work and exceeding client expectations.  In 2011, with the desire to gain additional experiences and skills, Sue moved to a mid-tier accounting firm.

After 5.5 years away from Whytes working and travelling, she returned bringing with her invaluable insights and knowledge which she shares with our team and imparts to clients. Sue believes in building strong, long-lasting relationships with clients, focusing on their needs and helping them to achieve successful outcomes.

When Sue isn’t working, she loves to spend time with her husband and young family.

Kimberley Mangan

Kimberley is a manager at the Whyte Group, and is a qualified Certified Practising Accountant with over 10 year’s experience in public practice. She works closely with Scott Whyte to provide their clients with a thorough understanding of their personal and/or business taxation affairs.

Kimberley can assist individuals, small-to-medium enterprises, and self-managed superannuation funds with meeting their various taxation lodgement obligations, along with any advice required throughout the year.

When not hard at work crunching numbers, she enjoys stepping onto the netball court and spending time with friends and family.

Sam Heinrich

Sam is a manager who joined the Whyte Group in 2012. He provides business and taxation advice to clients across a broad range of industry sectors through a common sense and practical approach.

Specialising in small and medium enterprises he provides clients with timely advice to assist in their budgeting, management reporting, structuring and estate planning needs.

Sam provides a high quality of work for all clients with his continued focus on building client relations.

Daniela Mercurio

Daniela Mercurio is a CPA accountant and has been part of the Whyte Group for over 20 years and enjoys being part of a passionate team of people and professional accountants.

Her experience enables specialised advice in areas of business and taxation services.  Her focus is on small to medium enterprises, assisting them with their business and accountability requirements and providing continued support.  She enjoys working alongside with our clients in their day to day business and offering support with respect to accounting software packages such as MYOB, Xero and QuickBooks.

Daniela believes it is vital to have a strong approachable relationship with our clients and enjoys seeing them achieve personal and business financial success.
